The Cyprus Productivity Centre (KE.PA.) and the Cyprus Chefs Association (C.C.A.) are announcing the joint organisation of the National Competition in the Cook’s speciality for 2019.
The National Skills Competition is open to all young people residing in Cyprus between the ages of 17-23, without a fee, according to the terms and conditions of the competition irrespectively being members of the C.C.A. or not.
The EUROSKILLS – YOUNG CHEF OF THE YEAR competition which will nominate the representatives of Cyprus will take place in three stages. The first two stages will be held at the C.C.A. premises in Limassol and the grand final will take place during the exhibition “Gastronomia – HO.RE.CA. 2019” in Nicosia, at the premises of the Cyprus State Fair.
Stage 1
November 7, 2019 at 4:30 pm (Written Exams)
The written examinations will be held at the offices of the Cyprus Chefs Association in the industrial area of Agios Athanasios (4a Alkidamou Street) in Limassol.
Stage 2
November 14, 2019 at 08:00 (Practice Tests)
Twelve finalists from the written exams will cook a main course in thirty minutes, the materials of which will be given to the contestants during the first part of the competition. The top six will qualify for the grand final on November 29 at the Gastronomia – HO.RE.CA exhibition. 2019”.
Stage 3
November 29, 2019 at 15:30 – 19:00 (Live competition, three-course menu for six people)
At the grand final the six contestants will have to prepare a three-course menu for six people with materials already announced on October 29, 2019. More information can be found on the Cyprus Chefs Association website www.cypruschefsassociation.com under the exhibition “Gastronomia – HO.RE.CA. 2019”.
